Rydger
The true cost and maintenance of your motorcycle or car
About the app
Rydger is the iOS app I built to keep my motorcycle (and car) on top of things: what each kilometre really costs and which service is due before it's overdue.
It runs locally with no account. Your data only syncs to your own private iCloud.
For anyone with a motorcycle or a car, or several, who wants to know what they really cost and never miss a service. You log expenses and kilometres; Rydger works out the €/km and the next trip to the workshop.
## Maintenance
- Reminders for oil, chain, tyres, brakes and MOT/ITV
- Predicts the next service from your recent riding pace
- Wear and age for chains, tyres, brake pads and discs
## True cost
- Your real €/km: fuel, service, tyres, insurance and the rest
- Cost breakdown by category
- Snap a photo of the dash and Rydger reads the odometer
## Pro
- Kilometres log themselves via your bike's Bluetooth or CarPlay plus a Shortcut (beta)
- The factory service schedule for your model
- SwiftUI
- SwiftData
- CloudKit
- CoreLocation
- StoreKit
FAQ
Is Rydger free?
Yes. The free version includes maintenance reminders, true cost per kilometre and odometer capture from a photo. Pro adds automatic kilometre logging (beta) and your model's factory service schedule.
Where is my data stored?
On your iPhone, and if iCloud is on it syncs to your private iCloud. There is no account or sign-up, and the app has no ads.
How does automatic kilometre logging work?
It's a Pro feature in beta. Two Shortcuts automations detect when your iPhone connects to and disconnects from your bike's Bluetooth or CarPlay, and Rydger records the trip with GPS in the background. It needs the "Always" location permission.
What do I need to use it?
An iPhone running iOS 18 or later.
Install
Rydger is free on the App Store, with no account and no sign-up.
